Home Sessions

Summer never has to be a deterrent to doing portraits.  All you need is a well lit home, some solid walls (preferably pastels) and not a lot of clutter.

This family below decided to sell their home and move back to Utah - so their session was to remember their time in Arizona.

See the images below for sweet inspiration.

The Art of Black and White

My greatest hobby is my career, and photography is my greatest hobby. Although a majority of my time is spent photographing people, my initial draw to image capture was documenting my travels. Over the years I developed interests in architectural photography, still lifes, nature and black and white.

Though I have a love of color, and saturate my images with it whenever possible, rendering an image into black and white can completely change one's perception, and the story that the image tells.

This is illustrated in the image of the tree, captured at the Grand Canyon. In color, it is a lifeless tree, devoid of color, juxtaposed with the dramatic colors of the canyon. As a black and white image, it tells a story of time and age, and the dark. The tree has character, life, and breathes drama and mystery.
